1 Mc Nab Avenue is a 15 level, 20,000sqm commercial office development, designed to achieve 5 Star Green Star NABERS (water) and 4.5 Star Green Star (energy) rating. Tenants include the Department of Justice, City West Water and the State Trustee’s.

The structure consists of thin composite slab and steel beams, composite columns and insitu core walls.
WSP Structures involvement in in this commercial office development provided efficienct structural solutions that helped to reduce the construction costs, minimised site wastage and increased the construction speed.

This development presented unique challenges, including the original structural design incorporated international building standards that were not covered under the Australian Standards.
Other structural challenges included providing a passive structural solution to prevent structural collapse in a fire or emergency situation

The Footscray 1 Mc Nab Avenue development is located adjacent to the Footscray Central Activities District, and was delivered in partnership the Victorian Government (VicUrban). The first of three proposed developments marks the beginning of a broader significant Footscray revitalisation project that will include mixed use developments, residential, civic and retail.

The building won the Australian Institute of Steel Award, category of - $5M.
