WSP Structures have created a hybrid piled/slab on grade solution. Similarly, the sloping terrain requires high overland stormwater flows through the centre of the development to be accommodated
The topography of the site has led to design challenges for WSP Structures. Being located on the side of the hill, it is susceptible to high overland flows which required our Civil team to take a lead role in conjunction with the Architect and Landscape Architect to master plan the building location and its levels. This was further complicated by existing council easements and upgrades required to the existing underground stormwater pipes.

Similarly, the WSP Structures team have created a hybrid foundation solution that combines residential ribbed slabs and piled foundations in regions where significant fill is required. The articulation of slabs adjoining the delineation of foundation system ensures minimal impact to finishes following any building settlement. As briefed by the client, the structure has been typically commercially designed utilising post tensioned concrete and precast panels to expedite construction speed.
