The Melbourne Convention Centre development and adjacent South Wharf Commercial development is a $1 billion PPP project comprising a 6 Star Green Star rated Convention Centre including a 5,000 seat Plenary Hall, 5 Star Hilton Hotel, 18,000m2 office / residential building, 60,000m2 of specialist retail space, 2,000 car parking spaces, a new and restored Maritime Museum precinct and river promenade and a pedestrian bridge across the Yarra River. The Plenary Hall is a completely flexible space, able to operate in nine different modes, including sports, grand theatre, cabaret, conference and theatre. Features include operable walls, which allow the space to be divided into three separate, fully independent sections and a mechanised gala seating system.
